In furtherance of our mission to advance restorative healing and Ubuntu culture in Africa, ìAfrika is pleased to announce a new addition to its growing team, who will oversee the implementation of programmes and collaborate on strategic planning for the organisation. Clinton McDubus joins ìAfrika in April 2024 as the new Programme Strategist.
Clinton is a Brand Strategist, Communications Specialist, Writer & Public Relations Consultant, and he will bring his wealth of experience in strategic planning and programme development, in both the non-profit and corporate sectors. A First-Class graduate of Information Technology from Novena University, Ogume, he possesses more than a decade’s worth of varied expertise in the Telecommunications, Public Relations, Sports, and Oil & Gas industries.
Clinton began his career as a customer service consultant for Telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria. He then worked at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) before joining BukiHQ Media, a public relations company, where he worked as a copywriter for high-profile clients such as Burna Boy, 2Baba, Olamide, Veuve Clicquot & Guinness. Thereafter, he joined the brand and corporate communications team of Rainoil Group.
Clinton has since led communications strategy for The SociaLiga, a sports entertainment brand, also managing and overseeing the digital efforts of over five brands, overseeing exponential growth. He further lent his expertise to various non-profit organisations, guiding them in digital strategy implementation.
As ìAfrika’s Programme Strategist, Clinton will play a key role in co-leading the restructuring of the organisation. He will work closely with stakeholders to design and refine programmes that meet community needs and promote sustainable change. Clinton will also be responsible for implementing programmatic projects in line with operational plans and strategies, as well as providing support for fundraising efforts.
When asked about joining the team, Clinton said: “I have closely followed the organisation’s work and impact over the past few years, and I am thrilled to join the team. I believe ìAfrika is undertaking crucial work that will have a lasting effect for generations to come, and it is an honour to contribute to helping the organisation achieve its goals. I deeply admire its dedication to making a difference, and I am eager to contribute to the impactful initiatives underway. The strong foundation already established will make it easier for me to add my own input as the organisation embarks on its next chapter.”
Clinton’s addition to the team is expected to strengthen ìAfrika’s efforts to capacitate marginalised communities, survivors of gender-based violence, feminist movements, civil society organisations (including CBOs), healing researchers and practitioners, and political and academic institutions, starting with the upcoming Healing Soulidarity Virtual Project (HSVP) which he is expected to co-execute, with his strategic input and execution of programmes helping the spread of soulidarity for the collective wellbeing of Africans.
